terrifying tower

In October we spent 3 days at Disneyland/California adventure. Haylie had never been on The Tower of Terror ride before. She didn't want to go on it this time either but I told her she didn't have a choice - she was going on it regardless of what SHE wanted! "You'll LOVE it!", mom promised. Needless to say, when I looked over at her during our second "drop," Haylie very obviously did NOT like it. "I hate this, I hate this. I want to get off!" *tears flowing*.
Interestingly enough, at the end of the day when I asked her what her favorite ride was, she replied, "The Tower of Terror." Hello?! (However, I could not get her on it again, "I'll just wait until we come next year," she said.)

*Update two years later . . . she did not make good on her promise - she STILL has not gone on it again! I think I may need to look into counseling for her. I had no idea the impact The Tower would have on my little girl. And it's all my fault.

the sound of an angel

In December, Raegan was asked to play the harp at The Church History Museum in downtown Salt Lake City as background music for patrons visiting there. The museum is a busy place during the holidays as so many people come to Temple Square to see the lights and Nativity. Here she is in the foyer of the museum doing her magic!

the obsession

Raegan, after taking a couple of years of french, has become a bit, well, obsessed with France! There was no way she was going to be left home from this European vacation! She had the thrill of a lifetime to be able to spend 5 days in Paris this past summer.

only one more year.....

It's hard to believe that my "baby girl" turned 19 yesterday! She said to me, "I am so anxious to not be a "teen" anymore, I don't even want that association!". Only one more year....

We took her to one of her favorite restaraunts, Market Street Grill (we tried for The Cheesecake Factory first, but at 4:45 p.m. they already had a 2 1/2 hour wait!).

the hiding place

While in Holland they visited Cori ten Boom's house. Any one who has read The Hiding Place will know what this is. Brooke is crawling through the secret door into the tiny room where Cori hid the Jews.

Kinderdijk, Holland

For Brooke's graduation, John took her and Raegan to Europe for 2 weeks. They went to France, Holland, and Belgium. Mom opted to stay home with the little ones - what a great wife/mom! (Note to John: you owe me BIG time!)

Class of 2007

Brooke was THRILLED to graduate high school this past year and move on to bigger and better things! She immediately started school at Brigham Young University and loves it.
