Last Friday, I took Haylie and Brooke to see David at Murray High School. We were so lucky to get in - the place was packed. It was a huge day here. They named it "David Archuleta Day".
This is the stage where he performed. We had great seats, until the wind blew that dang balloon rainbow until it was almost horizontal, which completely blocked us from seeing his face (his shoes looked great though!). We all chanted "Move the balloons, move the balloons". They finally caved in to us and cut them and let them fly away.

The limo that David arrived in - it was some honkin' huge beast.
You can only see about half of it here. He was surrounded by police and sirens as he drove in to the parking lot.
This is the mayor of Murray presenting David with....stuff.
I sure hope this guy's "handlebar mustache" doesn't cost David any votes! That was a bit wierd. I wanted to yell out, "Watch out David, that thing might poke you in the eye!" Yikes.
And I thought David sounded good on t.v. He's even better in person!

I love this picture because of the story behind it. Haylie and I had walked to the side of the stage. The camera guy was filming David and he was talking to the camera. Then we yelled out, "Hey David!", and he turned and looked at us with this shy "are-you-talking-to-me?" look. Then he smiled and laughed at us. Fun times!

That is so cool that you could go see him! I have been rooting for him since the first audition and I didn't even know he was a Utah boy back then.
I really like both the David's and would be happy with either one winning, but I think Archuleta will win. His shyness and lack of arrogance are very charming.

So glad you are a fan, too! We have watched all seasons but one and this is by far the BEST. How fun that you went to his homecoming! I thought about it, but decided not to, and now seeing your pictures I totally should have! Can't wait for the results...go David A.!!!
Archie should have won last night!!!!! His songs were so perfectly sung. He is not going to have any problems selling music in the future though. This homecoming was so fun to go to, thanks for saving seats for us.
Welcome to the club! I'm a big fan of AI myself. We missed the first three seasons, but haven't missed one since. We saw Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, and Jordan Sparks all win prior to this season.
Now if they could just get rid of Paula! Maybe even Randy and Ryan. But keep Simon! He's the star of the show.
