I often get asked if we "are done" having kids, and every time I hear those words these are the images that come to my mind; my son, my Adam, child #5, the child who plays by destroying, dumping, breaking, ruining, and defying. I thought I'd share just a sample of these images. Please keep in mind that this is only a fraction of the destruction that we endure.
This two photos are painful for me. These photos just does NOT do justice. Adam took a new bottle of Jet Dry, emptied ALL of it into the little reservoir where it goes in the dishwasher door (not all of it fit so it over-flowed into every nook and cranny possible), THEN he took the Cascade powder and all dumped a bunch of that into the Jet Dry reservoir. It was completely caked! I cleaned up as much of it as I could, which was not much as most of it was crammed into a thick, icky mess inside places I could not reach. Not really knowing what to do, I made a grave mistake and took my central vacuum and tried sucking the mess out! (Do NOT try this at home - it is not healthy for your vacuum!). That removed some, actually enough to liberally coat the inside of my hose. John finally had to take apart the dishwasher door and every little gadget in it to finally get it all out.

I really enjoyed reading through your blog, thanks for sharing it. What a cute family! Your little one cracks me up. He sounds like our Anna Lynn. We call her "Pig Pen" because she can walk through a spotless room and get the room and herself dirty.
Now, won't that Polar Express train be fun to pull out from the attic in 25 years to show your grandchild and show him what his daddy did?
OK, only Adam could be that twerpy and still look so cute!
Your last comment made me laugh...Kim N said you could pull the train out later...anyway, we were watching family video from 1991 and Nick was being goofy and not doing what we asked him to and I said "Nick, one day I am going to show this to your kids"...and now he's almost 27 and I can hardly wait!
Oh, Maryanne! What a creative little mind he has! Someday he'll really go places with that head on his shoulders...
How great that you took pictures to document! You can show them to him when he has boys who are doing the same things!
That reminds me of the time Nathaniel smeared shampoo all over the play castle that is now in the office. It also reminds me of the time he coated his head in mayonnaise and when Brinley colored red marker all over our leather couch...
Might I add another Adam horror story to the list: him cutting the tassels off every one of our living room pillows. Or was that Matthew? :D
Oh Madison, how could I forget the tassle disaster?! I spent quite some time sewing those dad gum things back on. And I do believe it was Matthew! Adam gets a free "get out of jail" card on this one ; )
